Siya Ke — Ram Ep 1

The entire court gasps. But Ram, who has been listening quietly from behind a pillar, steps forward. He is no more than 12 years old. He looks at his father, then at the sage. He folds his hands and says: “If my father’s word is his honor, then my duty is to protect that honor. I will go, Gurudev.”

Here is the story of of Siya Ke Ram , a retelling of the Ramayana from Sita’s (Siya’s) perspective. Episode 1: The Penance and the Promise The episode opens not in Ayodhya, but in the lush, serene kingdom of Videha (Mithila). The air is thick with the scent of jasmine and sandalwood. A young Princess Sita (Siya) sits by the banks of the river Gandaki, not as a royal, but as a devotee. Her eyes are closed, her hands folded in prayer. She is not praying for a husband or for wealth. She is praying for dharma to be restored on Earth.

Dasharatha’s hands tremble with joy. But the episode hints at a coming conflict: Kaikeyi’s eyes glint with ambition. She wants her son to be the heir, not just any son. siya ke ram ep 1

Lakshman immediately steps beside him. “Wherever Ram goes, I go.”

Sita smiles mysteriously and looks north toward Ayodhya. She says: “The world is harsh because it has forgotten its purpose. But a storm is coming from the north, dear nurse. Not a storm of destruction… a storm of righteousness. And I must be the ground that holds him steady.” The entire court gasps

Flashback: Years ago, Vishwamitra saved Dasharatha in a war. In return, Dasharatha swore, “Whatever you ask of me, I shall give.” Now, Vishwamitra asks for Ram.

Parallel to Mithila, we see Ayodhya . It is the night of a grand fire ritual. King Dasharatha is performing a Putrakameshti Yagna (a sacrifice for a son). The great sage Rishyashringa chants mantras. But the atmosphere is tense. Queen Kaushalya prays silently, Queen Kaikeyi looks impatient, and Queen Sumitra watches with gentle hope. He looks at his father, then at the sage

We see a flash of light. In her meditation, Sita has a vision: Mother Earth (Bhumi Devi), her celestial mother, whispers to her. “Daughter, the time has come. The Lord of the Universe will take birth as a man. He will need an anchor. He will need a strength that matches his own. You must become that anchor. You must become his Siya.”
