The brothers get Scylla and expose The Company. General Krantz is arrested. In a bittersweet ending, Michael dies from a brain tumor (stemming from Season 1’s medical issues), sacrificing himself to save Sara from a prison (in the TV movie The Final Break , which bridges S4 and S5). He leaves behind Sara and their son, Mike . Season 5: "The Resurrection" (2017, a revival) Plot: Seven years later. Sara has remarried (to a man named Jacob). Lincoln is struggling. Then Michael’s old friend T-Bag (out of prison) shows Lincoln a photo: Michael is alive, held in a Yemeni prison called Ogygia during a civil war.

The brothers clear Lincoln’s name when Steadman (faking his death again) is exposed. Mahone kills Tweener. T-Bag buries the money but marks its location. The season ends in Panama: Michael turns himself in to protect Sara (his love interest and the prison doctor’s daughter) and is sent to Penitenciaría Federal de Sona – a brutal, riot-torn Panamanian prison. Lincoln is framed for murder again but escapes. Sara is kidnapped. Season 3: "The Prison in Hell" Plot: Season 3 is shorter and takes place entirely in Sona , a prison where inmates run the show and guards only watch from outside. Michael is trapped inside.
