Both are acceptable on any modern Windows machine (8GB RAM+). The official client is lighter but uglier. 7. Stability & Bugs Official Client: Crash frequency: low. However, it sometimes forgets saved server credentials after a Windows update. Also, if your server certificate is self-signed, you get a scary Java security warning every launch.
