Perez pulls up old case files. The Shepherd. A ghost name from a human trafficking ring busted in Glasgow twelve years ago. All suspects acquitted. One name keeps appearing as a person of interest: CALUM BRAE (40s, charming, dangerous), now a respectable hotel owner on Unst.

Iain exhales. “Lizzie was my niece. My sister’s girl. We lost touch after she ran away. Catherine didn’t even know.” He looks Perez dead in the eye. “That’s the kind of secret you bury in Shetland. Deep.”
