Realtek chipsets ending in "AU" (8812AU, 8822AU, 8832AU) are notoriously bad at supporting newer kernels (6.5+). realtek 8832au

I spent 4 hours fighting with a no-name USB Wi-Fi dongle today. Device manager showed Realtek 8832AU , but no drivers worked out of the box on Ubuntu 24.04. Save this for when your USB Wi-Fi dies
Do not use the default drivers. Use the aircrack-ng/rtl8812au repository. It supports the 8832 variant out of the box.
