The film’s influence can be seen in everything from video games (like Call of Duty ) to the later, more grounded Rambo films ( Rambo , 2008; Rambo: Last Blood , 2019) which took the character back to his brutal roots. Rambo III is not a good film in the traditional sense. It is too long, too loud, and too politically naive. But it is an essential artifact of 1980s action cinema.
