Tonight, Luca sat in the back of a noodle shop called The Golden Bough, stirring broth with a chipped spoon. Across from him sat a woman in a gray coat. Her name was Officer Mina Sero, and she was the only cop in Verance who hadn’t tried to arrest him. luckydog7

Mina pulled out a second chip. Same black. Same silver seven. But this one had a crack running through its center. “Then tomorrow, someone else uses your luck to empty the Grand Verance Bank. And you get the blame anyway.” Luca’s thumb traced the rim of his bowl
