Rather than visiting youtube.com, a user visits an Invidious instance (e.g., yewtu.be, invidious.privacydev.net), where the instance fetches the requested video or channel data from YouTube’s servers, strips out tracking, ads, and client-side JavaScript requirements, and serves the content through a lightweight, privacy-preserving interface.
