اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ Transliteration: Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad Translation: "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad." 4. The "Best Durood" According to Some Hadith (Durood-e-Tunajjina) Some scholars cite a hadith (though its chain is debated by muhaddithin, but its meaning is accepted by many Sufi and Shafi'i scholars) that this Durood is for relief from distress and fulfilling needs.
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ Meaning: "May Allah send His peace and blessings upon him." 3. The One with the Greatest Reward (10x Mercies & 10x Sins Erased) The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah sends ten blessings upon him, erases ten sins from him, and raises him ten degrees in rank." (An-Nasa'i). The simplest way to get this is:
There isn't one single "best" because different ones have different virtues and blessings. However, the most highly recommended, comprehensive, and frequently recited are the following. This is the Durood recited in the Tashahhud during every prayer (Salah). It is considered the most complete and virtuous because it includes blessings on the Prophet (ﷺ) and his family, following the pattern of blessings sent to Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام).
May Allah allow us to send abundant, perfect blessings upon His beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Ameen.
Translation: "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, such blessings by which You relieve us of all fears and calamities, fulfill all our needs, purify us of all evils, raise us to the highest stations in Your presence, and enable us to attain the furthest goals of all goodness in life and after death." How to Choose the "Best" for You? | If your goal is... | Recite this Durood... | | :--- | :--- | | Following the Sunnah precisely in prayer | Salat al-Ibrahimiyya (#1) | | Maximum reward with fewest words | Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam (#2) | | Seeking relief from a specific problem | Durood-e-Tunajjina (#4) | | Daily, consistent, easy remembrance | Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad (#3) | The Ultimate Best Practice The "best" Durood is the one you recite consistently, with presence of heart, and with love for the Prophet (ﷺ) . Even reading one Durood once with deep love and understanding is better than 1,000 recited without attention.
"The closest of people to me on the Day of Judgment are those who sent the most blessings upon me." (Tirmidhi)
